Gigantes del Cibao is a professional baseball team that participates in the Dominican Professional Baseball League. The club was formed in 1996 as a new franchise with aims for league expansion and plays its home games at the Estadio Julian Javier. Even with a much shorter history, it has been quite successful with a championship win to its credit and has notable alumni like Leury García, Wilson Valdez and Erick Almonte.
