FC Midtjylland came to existence when a merger between Ikast FS and Herning Fremad came through in April 1999. The team began playing for the Danish Superliga in 2000 and won its first ever top flight title in 2015. The club is known for players like Simon Kjær, Sune Kiilerich, Mohamed Zidan and Pione Sisto. FC Midtjylland is at home at the MCH Arena.
