Asociación Deportiva San Carlos, competes in Costa Rica’s Liga FPD- the top-most football competition in the country. It was founded in 1965 as Selección de San Carlos when two local football teams joined forces to play as a single entity. It spent most of its career in the Liga FPD, but it was relegated a few times to the Segunda División de Costa Rica. But this never bogged them down, it inspired them to deliver impressive performances. The team always managed to win the Segunda División title and secure its position in the top league. In 2019, the team won its first-ever Clausura title in the Liga FPD.
