Limón Fútbol Club is one of the 12 teams that compete in the Liga FPD- Costa Rica’s top-tier football competition. The team plays its home games at the Juan Gobán stadium. The team was formed in 2009 after the owners acquired the rights to Segunda División football team, A.D. Limonense. Limón Fútbol Club won the league in its debut season. Thanks to this win, the team earned a spot in the Liga FPD and started going head to head with Costa Rica’s best teams.
