Acda en De Munnik, consisting of Thomas Acda, Paul de Munnik and band members, was a Dutch musical and cabaret band that focused on writing and performing lyrical and harmonious arrangements. The duo met at the Amsterdam Academy of Cabaret, where they opted to collaborate on a theater show, containing both comical and serious elements. Mostly about love and broken-heartedness, fulfilling dreams and enjoying life, Acda en De Munnik's shows and songs picked up popularity. Although it released its first album Acda en De Munnik in 1997, it took the band one more year to become famous with their hit single "Niet Of Nooit Geweest" in 1998; this song is still considered to be among the most popular Dutch songs in the nation's music history. Nachtmuziek, released in 2007, didn't succeed in approaching the success of the first albums. The duo announced its split in 2014 and remain uncertain about what the future will bring.
