Liaoning Hongyun, which is also known as Liaoning F.C., competes in the China League One, which is the second-tier football championship of the country. The home matches are played at Tiexi New District Sports Center. It was founded in 1953 and continues to have a career decorated with many titles and victories in major football championships. It was one of the founding members of Chinese Jia-A League(now known as Chinese Super League)and has won the title many times. In 1990, it won the Asian Club Championship and became the first Chinese team to achieve this feat. Other notable wins include China League One title, Chinese FA Cup and the Chinese Super Cup.
