Club Deportivo Universidad Católica, popularly known as Universidad Católica, is a football club that competes in the Premier División- the top-tier competition of Chilean football. This Santiago-based club was founded in 1937 and is ranked among the top three clubs in the country, a merit it achieved after claiming several top flight honors. The most pivotal of which are the multiple Primera División titles. The club’s popularity exceeded the boundaries of Chile when it won the Copa Interamericana in 1994. Its matches against their fierce rivals Universidad de Chile and Colo-Colo are also some of the most awaited events by the club’s fans. The club uses the Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo Santiago for its home games.
