Santiago Wanderers is a Chilean football club that represents the city of Valparaíso in the Chilean Primera Divisíon. Established in 1892, it is one of the oldest football clubs not only in the country but in all of Latin America. It played at the amateur level until 1936 before joining the professional league. The Wanderers’ first tasted success under the tutelage of José Pérez, whose guidance helped the club cinch multiple league titles and Copa Chile victories. The club has produced many talented players such as the legendary Elías Figueroa, who is not only regarded as one of the greatest Chilean footballers of all time but also as one of the greatest defenders in the world. The team plays its home matches at the Estadio Elías Figueroa Brander in Valparaíso.
