Hailing from Chicago, Veruca Salt is an alternative rock band that was formed in 1993 during the height of the grunge movement. With the release of its debut split single, "Seether"/"All Hail Me," in 1994, the band rose to attention and quickly developed a following on tour with Hole before releasing its first album, American Thighs, later the same year. Veruca Salt earned mainstream success with its follow up LP, Eight Arms to Hold You, in 1997, and though the group underwent serious lineup changes in the years to follow, leaving founder Louise Post as the only founding member by 1998, it remained active throughout 2012. After a year-long hiatus, the original lineup of Nina Gordon, Jim Shapiro and Steve Lack reunited with Post in 2013, and Veruca Salt released a 10-inch vinyl featuring two new songs in 2014.
