Founded in 1979, Cobresal is a professional football club from the South American nation of Chile. Representing El Salvador, Atacama in the Primera Division of Chilean football, Cobresal derives its name from the domestic copper mine firm. Fondly known as “Mineros”, the club has utilised the Estadio El Cobre as its home stadium since the team’s inception. Famed Chilean striker Iván Zamorano made his footballing debut with this club.
