Initially formed in Chicago in 1993, 88 Fingers Louie is hardcore punk outfit that has maintained its characteristic sound over the course of various records and hiatuses. Though the band's 1995 debut album, Behinds Bars, was met with widespread acclaim, internal friction drove 88 Fingers Louie to its first breakup in 1996. After a short reunion in 1998, the group disbanded again, and this time it remained inactive for a decade until 2009, when it held a reunion show at Chicago's Riot Fest. The band managed to excite its following with a short touring stint over the course of the following year, but by the time it was 2010, it had fallen into yet another period of inactivity. 88 Fingers Louie was back at it by 2013, and the band has since continues to spread its pop punk music onto broader audiences.
