K.V. Mechelen is a Belgian football club based in Mechelen, Antwerp. Founded in 1904, the club won its first-ever title in 1943. It continued its successful streak through 1948 before hitting a bump and falling back. The 1960s and 1970s proved to be tumultuous for the club and marked a period of constant promotions and relegations between the first and second division. It managed to climb its way back to the top between 1987 and 1992, winning the domestic title, the European Cup Winners’ Cup and the European Super Cup. It plays its home fixtures at the AFAS Stadion and competes in the Belgian First Divison A.
