David Lang

David Lang is a New York City-based composer who has developed a reputation for his post-minimalist style. Using threads of modernism, minimalism and rock to weave his contemporary classical sonic tapestries, he has collaborated with various artists, from choreographers to librettists and illustrators, on top of creating his own renowned solo compositions. Lang was awarded the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for his piece The Little Match Girl Passion, which was based on Hans Christian Andersen's fable of a similar name.
