Mister and Mississippi is a Dutch folk band that was founded in 2011 by students of the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht, Netherlands. The group released its self-titled debut effort in 2013 and managed to win a #FM Award in the category of Best Newcomer. Mister and Mississippi draws its name from a song that was written by Irving Gordon in 1951 and was latter covered and made popular by Patti Page.
