The Launderettes is an all-female garage rock band from Oslo, Norway that has been around since 1996. After honing its sound on the live music circuit for several years, The Launderettes eventually entered into the studio to record its 2002 debut album, Shaken and Disturbed. Having been a stalwart act on the Oslo music scene for some time, in 2007, The Launderettes earned the attention of E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt, who signed the group to his imprint Wicked Cool Records.
