Sam Smith is an English singer/songwriter who initially rose to fame in 2012, when his vocals were featured on Disclosure's breakthrough single "Latch." With a distinctive voice that can seamlessly exist on both the low and high ends of the sonic spectrum, Smith has managed to stand apart from the myriad of unique singers on the modern English music scene. Quick to identify preeminent talent, Capital Records signed Smith shortly after "Latched" hit the charts and released the singer's debut LP, In the Lonely Hour, in 2014.
