One of the 'Big Five' football clubs of Argentina, Club Atlético Independiente has always been of the most feared teams in the Argentine Primera División. Formed in 1905, this club's track record can only be matched by few other elite clubs of South America. Winners of numerous accolades, the club has a very rich legacy. The team has won 16 Primera Division titles and a total of 21 international titles including the Copa Interamericana, Copa Sudamericana and the Copa Libertadores and is the only team to win the Copa Libertadores four times in a row. Based in Avellaneda, Buenos Aires, the home stadium of this club is the Estadio Libertadores de América and boasts of reputed alumni like Ricardo Pavoni, Arsenio Erico and Ernesto Grillo.
