Mónica Naranjo Carrasco (born 23 May 1974) is a Spanish singer known for her powerful voice and popularity across Spain and Latin America. She has performed with notable artists like Luciano Pavarotti and Rocío Jurado. Born in Figueres, Spain, to parents who migrated from southern Spain, Mónica showed an early passion for music. At 18, she moved to Mexico and in 1994 released her debut album Mónica Naranjo, which was a success in Latin America. Her second album, Palabra de Mujer (1997), marked her breakthrough in Spain and sold over 2 million copies. Known for hits like "Sobreviviré," she became a beloved icon in the LGBT community. Despite a brief hiatus, Mónica returned with several projects, including the album Tarántula (2008). She has also worked on TV, served as a judge for talent shows, and in 2022, released her latest album Mimétika.
