One individual who's helping lead the modern dancehall scene is Kingston, Jamaica-based artist Reanno Gordon, better known as Busy Signal, a nickname his friends gave him due to the fact that he's consistently busy. Incorporating reggae and soca into his fusionist form of dancehall, Busy Signal established himself immediately as an innovator when he first began making music in 2003. His innovative nature was solidified, however, when he released a cover/remix of the Phil Collins' masterpiece "One More Night," which catapulted him to fame and is still his most popular single to date. While Busy Signal's largest followings are in the US and Caribbean Islands, the MC hopes to expand to Europe and has thus planned a European tour.
