Dallas Smith

Canadian singer Dallas Hendry Smith, known professionally as just Dallas Smith, has made a name for himself in both, country and hard rock music genres. Raised in Langley, British Columbia, Smith was surrounded by rock and country music while growing up. Although largely influenced by the music of The Beatles, he also had a taste for the music of the likes of Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks and The Judds. While he loved to play and sing, shyness prevented him from expressing his talent until he decided to face his fears head-on and formed a band with his friends. A few years later, he joined the Vancouver-based hard rock/post-grunge band Default as its lead singer. Its debut album, 2001's The Fallout, was an instant success and included the international hit single "Wasting My Time," which helped the album achieve platinum states in North America. The band went on to release other albums such as Elocation, One Thing Remains and Comes and Goes. After the band decided to go on a hiatus, Smith became more inclined towards pursuing a solo career and teamed up with Joey Moi to produce the album Jumped Right In, which was released in 2012. Numerous singles from the album did well commercially and Smith's new career was further enabled by his co-headling tour with Chad Brownlee. Smith released an EP, Tippin' Point, in 2014 in the USA and Canada. That same year brought his second solo album Lifted, again produced by Joey Moi. The first single off the album, "Wastin' Gas" and subsequent ones, "Lifted" and "Cheap Seats," all reached the Top Five on the Canadian Country Singles Chart. His third solo outing, Side Effects, came in 2016 and included "Kids with Cars," "One Little Kiss," "Autograph," "Side Effects" and "Sky Stays This Blue." His other popular tracks include "Like a Man," "Timeless" and "Drop."
