Stuttgart-based quartet The Rising Rocket began creating its own breed of indie rock, including the unusual addition of an upright bassist to its lineup, in 2006 and by 2009, the band had garnered the prestigious Coca Cola "Best Newcomer Band" award for that year. This honor, well, rocketed The Rising Rockets to fame and helped the band amass a sizable fan base throughout Europe. After selling out arena venues in its home country and landing a few songs on US television programs, The Rising Rockets went back to the studio to record its second full length album and if the second is anything like the first, the band will undoubtedly continue to gain widespread acclaim.
