Something for Kate is a three-piece alternative rock band that emerged out of Melbourne, Australia in 1994. With only a demo under its belt, the band signed to Murmur Records in 1995 and released its debut EP The Answer to Both Your Questions, in 1996. Led by singer/songwriter and guitarist Paul Dempsey, the band creates a distinctive folk-tinged, post grunge sound that has resonated with a national audience. Something for Kate dropped its first full-length effort Q& A with Dean Martin, in 1996, and has since gone on to tour internationally in support of records such as 2012's Leave Your Soul to Science.
