Saturnus is a Danish metal band that blends together a number of Gothic tendencies like ethereal sonic meanderings and pervasive drone instrumentals to create a characteristically dark and moody style of music. Founded in Copenhagen in 1991, Saturnus gigged around various European metal venues for several years after its inception before entering the studio to record its 1996 well-received debut album, Paradise Belongs to You. Despite undergoing a number of personnel changes over its decades long career, the band has nevertheless managed to hold on to its unique sound and maintain a respectably busy touring and recording schedule.
