One of England's most successful thrash metal bands, Xentrix was formed in 1986 by Lancashire-based musicians Chris Astley, Kristian Havard, Paul MacKenzie and Dennis Gasser. A five-star rating from Kerrang! magazine brought the band under the radar of Roadrunner Records, who signed a deal with the band after an audition. Its debut album Shattered Existence came out in 1989 and the EP Ghostbusters the following year. That same year, Xentrix released its sophomore album titled For Whose Advantage?, which helped the band generate more buzz. After a hiatus and change in lineup, Xentrix returned with several other albums including Scourge and Bury the Pain.
