Also known as The Sleepwalker, La sonnambula is an Italian opera that was originally performed in 1983 with music by Vincenzo Bellini and a libretto by Felice Romani. An opera semiseria, or semi-serious opera, the show follows the story of a long-lost lord who returns to his village only to find himself in the middle of a misunderstanding involving the village phantom and jealous young lovers.
