Robert Wilson, who is more widely known now as Bobby V, was born in Jackson, Mississippi, in February 1980. He began his musical career as a member of the group Mista in 1996 and in 2002, decided to try out for the TV show American Idol, but was passed over. Indomitable, he released his debut solo album in 2005.
