Scotland is a fairly atramentous country. The weather is oftentimes murky and the temperature is fairly cold, causing people to mope around in a lurid mental state. Because of the inherently doleful nature of Scotland, it's slightly surprising to find out that one of the nation's premiere electronic musical exports, Gary Beck, makes music that falls into the techno category. The style of music is fairly bright, feel-good music and after listening to a few of Beck's tunes, you undoubtedly think that the musician would call a sunny place like Florida home. But Beck is a Scotsman and the music he creates must be a response to the depressing weather that he and his fellow countrymen experience on a yearly basis. He has been officially releasing music since 2005 and as he continues to play clubs around the European continent, his notoriety will undoubtedly continue to grow.
