The Black Angels

Even though the term modern vintage seems like a contradiction of itself, there are certain bands out there, like Austin, Texas-based psychedelic rock revival outfit The Black Angels, that manage to create a uniquely characteristic style of music that blends new and old sonic sensibilities to create an extremely pertinent sound for today’s multifaceted music scene. Formed in 2004, the five-piece pulls heavily from 1960s psych, and to a lesser extent modern indie rock, to forge an interesting and timeworn musical aesthetic that has gone over extremely well with music connoisseurs around the world.
