One of the first bands to pioneer and popularize Mexican rock sung in Spanish, Fobia began rocking in its native tongue in 1987. While the five-piece from Mexico City had poor luck at first and despite garnering the attention of a record label during the group's high school battle of the bands competition, Fobia was kicked out of the label's building by security before the scheduled meeting could occur. Fobia released its first single shortly after this debacle, though, and immediately had Mexico hooked. Fobia disbanded in 1995, but ten years later, the band reunited and has been releasing music and touring steadily since.
