Born Neal Fraser in Guyana in 1955, Mad Professor has left an indelible mark on the sonic palette of dub reggae. At the tender age of 20, Fraser indulged his dual passions for reggae and electronic equipment by starting his own recording studio in South London and began imprinting his trademark brand of atmospheric spaciness onto an entire generation of dub artists. Since then, he has recorded a good deal of his own material and done high profile remixes (most notably, a complete re-imagining of Massive Attack's 1995 album, Protection, as well as produced over 200 albums for artists from the world of reggae and beyond.
