Why is it that some of the most popular music acts from the U.K. never seem to catch on in the U.S.? There are probably hundreds of reasons: different tastes, different sonic understandings, different perceptions of social class, etc. Instead of examining the various reasons why notable English acts aren't popular in the States, it might just be better to seek out these bands and to personally gauge their listenability. The Music is a popular band in its native England, and despite releasing several well received albums in the 2000s, they sent only ripples across the proverbial musical pond to the U.S.
