It's sometimes said that great artists come from humble beginnings; Kailash Kher childhood was etched in a similar manner. He spent his youth in the small town Meerut and in New Delhi, where he watched his father sing folk songs that further increased his inclination to music. With sufficient training in folk and Indian Classical music, Kailash landed in Mumbai to begin his career. Several jingles and small singing acts with meager pay led him to his first Bollywood song, 'Allah Ke Bande' for the film Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II. Though the movie bombed at the box office, Kailash's career sky-rocketed with the inspiring lyrics belted out in his earthy voice. Kailash also formed the Indi-pop and folk music band Kailsaa with Paresh and Naresh Kamath. Their hit singles, 'Saaiyan,' 'Teri Deewani', and other sufi-fused, contemporary melodies gained huge fan following. As an artist, Kailash has enthralled the audience in over 800 live performances across the world and is considered as one of the eminent singers in India.
