Led by Lisen Rylande, The Splendor is a Swedish jazz quartet composed of relatively young musicians, all under the age of thirty. Based around the idea of each member bringing his or her own improvisations to the music, the band builds around these improvisations in a primarily acoustic style, but with experimental electronics subtly worked in. The quartet's debut album appropriately titled "The Sound of Splendor," was released to massive acclaim in the band's home country and it has become known for the impressive improvisational nature of its live shows.
