Born in Ghana and raised in Toronto, Canada, singer/songwriter Kae Sun creates his own brand of soul music. Driven by his own personal narratives and a healthy dose of funk music, Sun released his debut LP Lion on a Leash in 2009 and earned the respect of the independent music scene in the Toronto and Montreal areas. His 2011 EP, Outside the Barcode, was inspired by his return to his native homeland after living in Canada for nine years, and the experience had notable affects on the percussion and feel of the record. Sun has since traveled back to Ghana to play various festivals and shows, and continues to tour across Canada and throughout the Europe. While artists often find life on the road to be exhausting, Sun describes his travels as a prolonged spiritual journey that ultimately inspired his 2013 album, AFRIYIE.
