Jarboe

Jarboe is an American experimental folk singer/songwriter and keyboardist who first rose to notoriety in the mid-1980s as a member of the New York-based no wave act Swass. Learning how to play the organ as a kid, Jarboe also took years of professional vocal training before she joined Swans in 1985. Though the group broke up in 1998, Jarboe launched a solo career that lets her dictate the flow and feel of her musical whims without the confines of group trappings.
