Blues-rock singer/songwriter Amos Lee grew up in Philadelphia and planned on becoming an elementary teacher for much of his life. After graduating from college he fulfilled this plan, but after a few years realized music was his true passion, quit his job and self-released an EP in 2004. This EP garnered him a huge following in his hometown, caught the attention of Blue Note Records, which signed him immediately, as well as Nora Jones who asked Lee to tour with her. His next release, produced by Nora Jones' bassist and featuring vocals from Jones herself, won Lee huge acclaim, peaking at #2 on the Billboard charts. Amos Lee continues to find success, releasing hit albums and performing to sold-out arenas.
