Doug Snyder likes kids. He likes kids so much that he quit his day job to teach kids age 7-17 guitar lessons in 2001. Developing a teaching system based on a collaborative writing process with his students, Snyder soon realized the potential in many of the collaborative songs. What followed was an album of quirky pop songs by The Jellydots (Snyder and his students) as well as a tour led by Snyder and including many of his students in the lineup. Essentially Snyder is a real life version of the Jack Black movie School of Rock. Like in the movie, The Jellydots have won over many audiences with its childlike charm and genuine instrumental ability.
