Fennesz

The amount of noise that Austrian musician Christian Fennesz is able to make with an electric guitar, a laptop and a few effects pedals is rather haunting and unlike what most people are used to hearing. During live performances Fennesz programs his computer and establishes a repetitive loop, then builds upon it with his guitar and other samples until he has woven a rich sonic cloth, complete with intricate arrangements and flourishes. Though his music is considered to be electronica by many, Fennesz's tunes are better described as experimental soundscapes that rise and fall depending upon how ornately Fennesz wishes to construct them.
