The highly procreative four-piece known as The Legendary Pink Dots was formed in 1980 and has since released over 40 albums. Difficult to categorize its style of music, the band has its roots in London but was eventually transplanted to Amsterdam and has a fairly solid core of four members even though it has had over 30 other members pass through the band at some point, including front man Edward Ka-Spel's alleged alter-ego "Lisa." The band has mastered the neo-psychedelic rock genre but has also developed a command of ambient electronica. With such a diverse career and a tremendous amount of respect from musicians and fans alike, the Legendary Pink Dots are not a name that will fade away.
