Born and raised on Madagascar, Kilema came in contact with music at an early age, building guitars with old bicycle chains and other materials found on the street by the age of 12. After graduating from university, Kilema played in various bands with moderate success until branching off on his own to create solo work. His easygoing roots music has won over crowds at festivals worldwide.
