One half of the R&B/hip-hop duo Outkast, Georgia-based Antwan André Patton, better known as Big Boi, began pursuing music at a young age. He decided to attend the Tri-Cities High School, an arts school where he met other Outkast member Andre 3000. The duo has enjoyed much success since they first started making music in the late 1990s. Though both have released several solo albums, they're known for packaging them together and therefore still selling them under the Outkast moniker. 2010 brought the official debut solo album from Big Boi which was released to critical acclaim. Though the style of music varies little from his work with Outkast, Big Boi focuses more heavily on social issues in his solo work, particularly about the still prevalent issues of racism in the world.
