Indianapolis based 6-piece Margot & the Nuclear So and So's is essentially the project of Richard Edwards and Andy Fry. The duo's minor obsession with the Wes Anderson film The Royal Tenembaums led them to initially start the band Archer Avenue (after the street the family lives on in the film) and eventually Margot & the Nuclear So and So's (after Gweneth Paltrow's character from the film). While there have been multiple lineup changes, since most of the band members were part of other bands, Margot & the Nuclear So & So's has consistently made well-crafted chamber pop with undertones of melancholy.
