Far from the catchiest name for a band, Seattle based Mt. St. Helen's Vietnam Band has never followed the traditional formula for the pop-rock genre. Instead of releasing demos and building a fan base that way, the five-piece--made up of husband-wife duo Benjamin and Traci Verdoes, their adopted 12-year-old brother Marshall, and two friends Matthew Dammer and Jared Price--built hype by releasing multiple PSA style YouTube videos that didn't include their music. Somehow this garnered enough attention and the band's first release was highly anticipated. Living up to the anticipation, the 2008 indie rock EP was filled with catchy hooks and epic instrumentation. Since then the band has toured extensively and continues to impress fans everywhere.
