In the early aughts, English producer Rob Quickenden started scouring vintage stores in search of old vinyl albums. After collecting a fair amount of nostalgic LPs - that ranged in genre from 70s funk to 40s big band - Quickenden started composing songs that pulled heavily from these albums. The result was a debut LP that was released under the Backini guise. The unique blending of genres and songs proved fruitful, and people reacted quite well to the amalgamation of noise. Backini has since released another album and by making each live performance unique from the last, he has made a name for himself as one of the preeminent greats of his generation.
