French/Finnish duo Olivia Merilahti and Dan Levy met while recoding music for a French film in 2005. They christened themselves The Dø (pronounced "the dough") and continued scoring films, ballets and theatre. Realizing the potential for mainstream success, the duo released a debut album entitled A Mouthful and became the first French band singing in English to debut as number one on the French charts. With their diverse influences blended flawlessly in their music, including hip hop, folk, twee and pop, Merilahti and Levy create eclectic, theatrical indie pop. After finding success in France, The Dø released its album worldwide and was again met with positive acclaim.
