Just as much a performer as a musician, Oakland based Seth Bogart, known as Hunx, has made quite the name for himself with his overtly gay persona, audacious commentary and retro style. When performing with his backing band known as His Punx, or alternatively his female backing band, His Punkettes, Bogart and his band dress in matching outlandish costumes, each performance flaunting a different theme, including leather bikers, pajamas complete with curlers, fast food restaurant employees, superheroes and babies. While his performance is a must see, his music isn't bad either, mixing the aesthetics of 60s girl groups, garage rock, punk and power pop combined with straightforward lyrics about boys crooned in Hunx' whiney voice.
