Originally a Broadway play but made famous by the Academy Award winning film version released in 1954, starring Grace Kelly and Bing Crosby, The Country Girl is centered around a washed-up, alcoholic actor and his bitter wife. A director decides to cast the broken actor, to the horror of the play's producers, and ends up falling in love with his wife. The latest revival is directed by Rufus Norris and will run at the Birmingham Hippodrome and Apollo Theatre.
