Patrick Flegel, Christopher Reimer, Matt Flegel, and Mike Wallace came together in 2007 to form Women. Although the band members had performed together before as part of other acts, they finally settled and recorded a self-titled, full-length album as Women in the basement studio of Chad VanGaalen. The lo-fi art rock album stirred up the blogosphere and the band embarked on a world tour. Their second album, Public Strain, was released in September, 2010. Although the band toured extensively and achieved a notable fan-following, Women disbanded in 2012 following the demised of Reimer. It is rumored that the band actually broke up in 2010 following a disagreement onstage during a live performance.
