Formed in 1987, Austin based alternative rock band The Jesus Lizard helped pioneer a unique lo-fi sound that has gone on to be immortalized as the noise rock genre. The band combined uncompromising guitar riffs, scathing vocals and a caveman-like rhythm to create an interesting amalgamation of sound that went over quite well with college radio audiences and America's underground music scene. The group broke up in 1999, but after having a change in heart in 2008 the band decided to reform and since then The Jesus Lizard has been playing shows to eager audiences who have a deep affinity for noise rock.
