Trained at the prestigious Hanns Eisler Music Conservatory in Berlin, Jochen Kowalski is a highly sought after tenor-turned alto known for the timbre of his voice. Gaining fame in the 1980s for his operatic roles in Berlin, particularly for the rather modern version of Orpheus, Kowalski honed his musical style, focusing on the classical and baroque. In the 1990s he toured throughout the world, performing in various operas and festivals, and still makes occasional appearances today.
